Sing with Confidence!

Rose E. Betz-Zall

Would you like to strengthen your voice, better your breathing and develop your range? I can help you to sing the music you want to sing; I've helped opera singers and rockers become more skilled and confident singers. I have been teaching for over 25 years, and I love helping people through their vocal challenges.

Bring a blank CD-RW and during your lessons I will create a voice warm up CD that you can use to practice on your own.

I teach in my home in the Greenwood neighborhood of Seattle, Washington, USA. Since I moved to Seattle about 25 years ago I have taught all kinds of singers. Some don't know whether they can sing, others sing with professional rock bands and the opera and musical theater. I enjoy working with many styles of music. I have a variety of music in my studio and love to work with students on whatever they are singing. The lessons are very positive and supportive. My fee is a sliding scale of $35-$65 per hour for a private lesson. You just decide what to pay based on your feeling about your economics. I teach most days of the week except Thursday, normally starting at 10:00 or 11. I teach evenings, usually on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday except when I have rehearsals elsewhere.

Background

I have a Master of Music in Opera Performance as well as a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a certificate in International Montessori teaching. I started singing with the chorus of the Philadelphia Opera Company while in college.

While pursuing my Masters Degree at Temple University I taught a voice class for the theater students. I found the experience was a lot of fun and very rewarding. After graduating I continued to teach, broadening my practice to support all styles of music.

For 18 years I performed in the Seattle Opera chorus, while teaching people in my spare time. Since I retired from the Opera a few years ago I have taught more than 200 people to sing more happily and strongly. I am active with the Ladies Musical Club's "Music in the Schools" committee, helping young children to find their singing voices.
